CTO Resources LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Washington state limited liability company operating the Useful EA platform, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.
By using Useful EA, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your email address, provided when you register.
- Content data: capability models, groups, capabilities, views, strategies, and other data you create or import within the Service.
- Usage data: log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically when you use the Service.
- Device data: device type, operating system, and browser version, collected automatically.
We do not collect or store your payment card information. Subscription payments are handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. — your card number, expiration date, and CVV are sent directly to Stripe and never pass through or reside on our servers. See Section 3 for more on how Stripe is involved.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Send transactional messages related to your account (e.g., security notices).
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting, database storage, and authentication (Amazon Cognito). These providers process your data only as directed by us and are bound by data processing agreements.
- Payment processing: Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-compliant payment processor. Stripe collects your payment card details directly from you and handles them under its own Privacy Policy; we never receive or store your full card number, expiration date, or CVV, or any other card detail. We do receive non-card billing information from Stripe — your subscription status, billing interval, and Stripe's own customer/subscription identifiers — to operate the Service. During your free trial, you can cancel before you're charged at any time using the "Manage billing" link inside the application, which takes you directly to Stripe's own secure Customer Portal. To cancel or make changes to an active paid subscription, contact support@useful-ea.com.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfer: If CTO Resources LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical safeguards including HTTPS encryption for data in transit, AWS Identity and Access Management controls, and access limited to personnel who need it to operate the Service.
Despite these measures, no internet-based service can be guaranteed completely secure. We cannot promise that your data will never be accessed by unauthorized parties as a result of a cyberattack or other security incident. By using the Service you acknowledge this inherent risk. Please review our Terms of Service for the full scope of our liability limitations.
If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you by email within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information and content data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Usage and log data may be retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostic purposes.
6. Your Rights
You may, at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Export your capability model data using the Service's CSV export feature.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
This website (useful-ea.com) does not set any strictly necessary or authentication cookies of its own — there is no sign-in on these marketing pages. The only cookies this website can set are optional analytics cookies, and we do not set them until you affirmatively accept them using the cookie banner or the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page.
If you accept analytics cookies, this website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets the following cookies:
- _ga — set by Google Analytics (GA4), provided by Google LLC. Distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_NRL5L4JDYH — set by Google Analytics (GA4), provided by Google LLC. Persists session state for this specific property. Expires after 2 years.
We also store one preference value — not a cookie — in your browser's local storage
(key ue_consent, value "granted" or "denied") solely to remember your cookie
choice so we don't ask again on every visit. This value never leaves your browser and is
not sent to us or to any third party.
You can accept or reject analytics cookies, and change your choice at any time, using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting, and the website works the same either way. If you withdraw consent after previously granting it, we stop sending further Google Analytics data and delete the Google Analytics cookies listed above from your browser, where your browser allows a website to do so.

8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
