CTO Resources LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Washington state limited liability company operating the Useful EA platform, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.
By using Useful EA, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your email address and mobile phone number, provided when you register.
- Content data: capability models, groups, capabilities, views, strategies, and other data you create or import within the Service.
- Usage data: log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically when you use the Service.
- Device data: device type, operating system, and browser version, collected automatically.
We do not collect payment information. The Service is currently free.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Verify your identity and create your account via SMS one-time code.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Send transactional messages related to your account (e.g., security notices).
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information to send marketing SMS messages.
3. SMS Messaging and Your Phone Number
When you register, we send a single SMS message containing a verification code to the phone number you provide. This message is sent through Amazon Web Services Simple Notification Service (SNS). No further SMS messages will be sent unless you initiate another registration or account-recovery action.
Message frequency: One message per registration attempt.
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier.

4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting, database storage, authentication (Amazon Cognito), and SMS delivery (Amazon SNS). These providers process your data only as directed by us and are bound by data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfer: If CTO Resources LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical safeguards including HTTPS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage at rest, AWS Identity and Access Management controls, and access limited to personnel who need it to operate the Service.
Despite these measures, no internet-based service can be guaranteed completely secure. We cannot promise that your data will never be accessed by unauthorized parties as a result of a cyberattack or other security incident. By using the Service you acknowledge this inherent risk. Please review our Terms of Service for the full scope of our liability limitations.
If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you by email within a reasonable timeframe as required by applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information and content data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Usage and log data may be retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostic purposes.
7. Your Rights
You may, at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Export your capability model data using the Service's CSV export feature.

8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
